Homestead offers chances on locally raised beef and lamb

TAYLOR COUNTY—The Homestead Farm Center of Taylor County has recently chosen to forego hosting their biannual Raising the Roof Barbecue Fundraiser in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.

However, in lieu of the event, the organization is holding a lamb and beef raffle as a supplemental fundraising event to support their efforts in expanding services that the center offers.

The lamb for the raffle was born and raised at the Homestead Farm Center and tickets can be purchased for a $5 donation, while the beef is being supplied by Burns’ Farm, which is also located in Taylor County. Raffle tickets for a chance on the beef for available for a $10 donation.

All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to the Homestead Farm Center.

Those interested in purchasing raffle tickets may call James Burns at 304-694-7784. The sale will conclude on September 1.
