GRAFTON— Crews responded to the scene of a working structure fire, Saturday night on Eby Road.
According to Grafton Fire Chief Dave Crimm, the department was alerted to the fire at approximately 9:56 p.m.
Crimm reported that no one was home at the time of the fire, and shared that it was a neighbor that had alerted 911 of the incident.
“The individuals had been doing some work to the home, and were actually just getting ready to move in,” commented Crimm.
Although the crews responded quickly, and were able to contain the blaze in 30 minutes, the residence was deemed a complete loss.
“We did everything we could, but because no one was home, it is difficult to say what kind of a head start it had on us,” added Crimm. “When we arrived on scene, the home was engulfed in flames.”
