Children benefit from Flemington Energy Express

FLEMINGTON – “All aboard.” The Energy Express summer reading and nutrition program provided through the West Virginia University Extension Service, is full steam ahead at Flemington Elementary this summer.

The six-week program consists of reading writing, drama, art, non-competitive recreation and includes two free meals a day. The day begins at 9 a.m. and students are dismissed at noon. On Fridays, they take a “snack pack” and books home to enjoy over the weekend.

The workshop runs from June 23, to July 25, and serves 40 children at each site in first through sixth grades, and is funded through the state and local partnerships.
