Haymond Community Center controversy continues

Posted: Monday, Oct 21st, 2013

GRAFTON – Several residents from the Haymond community were present for last Tuesday’s Taylor County Commission meeting. The residents in attendance included two board members mentioned in the previous meeting by the Taylor Development Group, as well as, children of those who were once devoted volunteers to the Haymond Community Center project.

...On behalf of many in the community, that had both volunteered and donated funds, many of those funds being published as public record on a monthly basis in the Haymond Community Center’s newsletter, Manypenny requested that the commission initiate an audit of the organization.

...The commission publicly accepted the property transfer and ordered Taylor County Clerk Georgianna Thompson to record the deed the following morning. Community members present for the meeting, checked with Thompson the next morning to find that the deed was not filed. Thompson noted that she was later instructed to not file the deed, and thus returned it to the commission’s legal council.
