Judge Moats compliments community corrections for work on courtroom

GRAFTON - Alternative sentencing has many layers of benefit, and Taylor County Circuit Court Judge Alan D. Moats understands that better than most.

Judge Moats paused before court last week to ask four individuals on community corrections to stand and recognized for their efforts in regards to his courtroom. These individuals removed the old ceiling tiles, painted the metal slats for the ceiling, put up new tiles, repaired the cracking and busting plaster, and then painted the walls. The finishing touch to the courtroom renovation was its new carpeting.

Moats explained that it had been over 30 years since anything had been done to the courtroom, and that the work these men had done was certainly to be commended.

After complementing the efforts of all, Judge Moats went to work exacting justice.
