Russian student visits TCMS

GRAFTON- In Rocky V., Balboa addresses the crowd, “I came here tonight and I didn’t know what to expect …if I can change and you can change, everybody can change.” Then an image of his large, blonde-hair blue-eyed rival Ivan Drago flashes on screen and instantly our view of a “Russian” is engraved forever.

...The rich history, influential arts and strong traditions of Russia came to life for the students as Alina taught her culture to the class. “I love coming here and teaching about our culture and ultimately breaking all of the stereotypes of it, like blonde hair and blue eyes,” giggled Alina.

...Alina addressed her students, as well as, Mrs. Walls’ students and shared Russian education, religion, climate changes, and politics; she even walked around the room to each student and wrote their names in Russian.
