GRAFTON- “You are about to enter Bearcat Country!” The Grafton High School Student Council members rolled up their sleeves and grabbed some paintbrushes to decorate riverside drive Tuesday. The “painting of the paws” began at Exxon and continued to the Fetterman Bridge, as students toted their brushes, templates and buckets of bright sun gold paint down the roadway. The paws symbolize the infamous bearcat mascot Grafton residents boast on every royal blue t-shirt in town, and with the busy traffic down Riverside, the paws were due for a fresh coat. With only one week until school starts for Taylor County, and just weeks before the big August 30, Bearcat game held on the fresh turf at McKinney Field, students are beginning to feel the summer recess come to an end. Fans are encouraged to come out and support their hometown and cheer the athletes on to victory this fall!
