Rev. Alvin Lee Guyon

Rev. Alvin Lee Guyon, age 81, of Keyser, WV, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Western Maryland Hospital in Cumberland, MD.

He was born on September 20, 1931 in North Irwin, PA, the son of the late Joseph Guyon and Agnes (Faulkner) Guyon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lila Lee (Sigley) Guyon on February 25, 2008.

Rev. Guyon was a United Methodist Minister who retired in 1995 after serving 44 years in various Churches in West Virginia. He graduated from WV Wesleyan College with a Bachelor degree in Religious Studies and received a Masters in Divinity from Drew University School of Theology in New Jersey.

Rev. Guyon is survived by: 1 daughter, Vivian Marie Curtis and husband, Richard, of Laxahatchee, FL; one son, Marshall Guyon and wife, Alice Ann, of Petersburg, WV; one sister, Sue Keck and husband, Jack, of State College, PA; two grandchildren, Casasandra Poling and Bobby Curtis and two great-grandchildren.

Per Rev. Guyon’s request his body was donated to medical science at West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV. Rev. James McCune and Rev. Dallas Forren will conduct a memorial service on Sunday, April 14, 2013, 4:30 PM at the Grace United Methodist Church in Keyser, WV.
