Bridge Street Bridge to be replaced

Bridge Street Bridge, located in downtown Grafton, will be replaced with a new bridge. Construction is set to begin fall of 2014.

The Federal Project Replacement of Bridge Street Bridge, which crosses Three Fork Creek, CSX Railroad and Front Street, is planned to take place fall of 2014. The new project is proposed to cost an estimated six to eight million dollars.

The project is proposed to last from one to two years.

The city officials have been recommending the possibility of closing Bridge Street all together or installing breakaway posts for emergency vehicles only.
