Taylor Made – ‘Home is where mama is’

Posted: Friday, Mar 8th, 2013

GRAFTON- Wendy Williams of Taylor County’s own Taylor Made band, stopped by the Mountain Statesman Tuesday morning to publicly thank the staff for their ongoing support.

“The paper and the community have just been amazing. Without your support and the support of our families that ‘keep the home fires burning,’ there’s no way Greg, Brian or I could do this,” confessed Williams.

She revealed just how disciplined and down-to-earth the band has remained. “There is one word that keeps us grounded, and that’s ‘mama.’”

“To this day, if any of us start to act ‘above our raisings,’ she yanks us right back down.”

The Friends of McKinney Field committee recently contacted Williams and asked if the band would be interested in performing a benefit concert to help raise funds to purchase a turf field for GHS.

Williams recalls her reaction when she was contacted, “I said YES, definitely! I didn’t even have to think about it. Anything we can do for our hometown, we are going to do!”

Taylor Made benefit concert is scheduled for March 27, 7:00 p.m. at the Grafton High School auditorium. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
