Jessie Pauline Barthelemy, 81, of Thornton passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at her residence with family by her side.
She was born January 28, 1932 in Kingwood, daughter of the late Oscar Ray Moore and Gertude DeWitt Moore Hefner.
She was raised by the Harned family from Albright. Jessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed gardening and working in the greenhouse. She always offered a warm loving home, where everyone was welcome, and dinner was always on the table.
Jessie was one of the founding members of the Thornton Fire Department and the Pumpkin Festival, and was active for several years. She worked at the Emlee Lodge, was a cook at the Thornton Elementary School and was a homemaker. She was a past member of the Thornton United Methodist Church and the Women Society Christian Services.
Jessie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, George Freddrick “Fred” Barthelemy, whom she married on December 24, 1953; one son, Larry Barthelemy and Stephanie, Clarksburg; three daughters, Patty Sigley, Thornton, Donna Freeman and David, Thornton, Linda Biddle and Kenneth, Grafton; one step sister, Betty Coffman, Grafton; six grandchildren, Amy Turner and Jamie, Oak Grove, Sarah Maxwell and Clay, Tunnelton, Josh Biddle and April, Grafton, Bridget Price and Jason, Oak Grove, Travis Biddle, Grafton, and Ryan McNemar, Thornton; seven great-grandchildren, Gavan and Ethan Turner, Wyatt and Cody Biddle, Justin, Megan and Dillon Price; and one great great-grandchild, Johnny; two sisters-in-law, Anna Moore and Patricia Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jessie was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Marvin P Sigley; three brothers, Arthur, James and Ralph Moore; two sisters, Joan Bills, Betty Moore in infancy; and one step sister, Margaret McIntosh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her memory to Payne Cemetery Association Rt.1 Box 1, Thornton, WV, 26440.

Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 3 p.m.-9 p.m., and Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 9 a.m. until the service at noon with Pastor Dan Lowther officiating. Interment will follow at the Payne Cemetery.
