dy Bearcats failed to take advantage of two last-chance situations during the final 35 seconds of their Big Ten Conference girls’ basketball game with the visiting Lady Huskies of North Marion High School here in the Scotty Hamilton Gym last Friday night.
The Lady Bearcats, now standing in with a 4-7 record in Big Ten Conference play and a 5-9 overall ledger, out-rebounded the Lady Huskies by a 38-34 count, and enjoyed a plus-four (14-18) edge in the turnover column.
The Grafton girls made (19-of-53) 36 percent of their field-goal attempts, while the North Marion girls shot (14-of-40) 35 percent. However, the Lady Huskies out-scored the Lady Bearcats by a 21-9 margin at the free-throw line, proving to be the major difference in the final outcome of this game.
