Ila Elbert “Sonny” Moran

Ila Elbert “Sonny” Moran, age 80, of Grafton, passed away Tuesday, January 08, 2013, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Grafton, August 31, 1932, a son of the late Ila M. Moran, and Betty (Summerfield) Moran. His wife, Lucille T. (Sorbello) Moran, survives. They were united in marriage August 20, 1958.

Sonny owned and operated Moran’s Service Station for 54 years. He was a 1950 graduate of Grafton High School. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the US Army, and a member of the VFW Memorial City Post #3081 of Grafton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one son, Ron Moran and wife Lori, of Masontown, PA; one daughter, Michele Moran and husband Robert Wagner, of Clarksburg; four grandchildren, Ashly Wagner, of Clarksburg, Brock Moran, of Morgantown, Trevor Moran, of Grafton, and Garrett Moran, of Morgantown; one great grandson, TJ, of Clarksburg; one brother, Charles Moran, of Grafton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Moran.

Funeral services will be private, Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, is in charge of arrangements.

Military graveside services will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24, and their auxiliaries, and the WV Army National Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 301 R H L Blvd, Charleston, WV 25309
