Jo Ann (Duckworth) Boyles

Jo Ann (Duckworth) Boyles, age 82, of Rt. 1, (Parkview Community) Grafton, WV passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at her residence.

She was born October 26, 1930 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Ebert E. Duckworth and Merle J.  (Gain)  Duckworth. 

She is survived by three children, Judy D. McDaniel and husband, Sam, Joyce Boyles Davis, and  Jeff K. Boyles and wife Sharon all of Grafton; six grandchildren, Brandon McDaniel and wife Laurie, of Grafton, Wendy McDaniel Mathes and husband, Craig of Columbus, OH, Angela Henderson McVicker of Bridgeport, JD Davis of Clarksburg, Heather Boyles Cain and husband, Jonpaul of Grafton, and Bethany Boyles and companion Brandon Price; eight great-grandchildren, Matthew McDaniel, Ben, Drew, and Grace Mathes, Braxton Davis, Grant, Elliot, and Kendall Cain, and Hadlee Price; one brother, Robert Duckworth and wife, Vera of Grafton; and one sister, Mary Knight of West Union; also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amanda M. Boyles; and her brother-in-law, Fred Knight.

She graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1948 and was a member of the Parkview Church of the Nazarene. 

Jo Ann worked at the JC Penney’s Store in Grafton for many years, then worked as a secretary for the WV Industrial School for Boys.  After its closing, she transferred to the Tygart Lake State Park where she retired as a secretary in 1993.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Wednesday, December 19, from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeremiah C. Reynolds officiating.

Interment will follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Webster.
