GRAFTON -- Somethin’ Country owners, Mary and Owen Phillips, have always had a unique way of adding warmth to everyone’s home through the crafts they offer, but this year, they plan on warming the hearts of a couple children at the Gigantic Toy Giveaway by donating funds to purchase toys for the activity.
Somethin’ Country, as well as, most of the businesses located along Grafton’s Main Street, will be open all day Saturday for the “Hometown Christmas” festivities. Somethin’ Country will be celebrating the holidays by hosting their annual “Customer Appreciation Day.”
With over 170 area youth registered for this year’s toy giveaway, the Mountain Statesman is still needing funds. As of noon Tuesday, parade organizers were estimating that they were going to have just over $5 to spend per child. In previous years, shoppers were given between $12.50 and $15 per child. Volunteers will be working today to raise funds.
