Knights & Lady Knights were all competitive

THE 2012 TAYLOR COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL TEAM


PRUNTYTOWN -- Starting with an undefeated girls’ cross country team, the athletes out here on the hill at Taylor County Middle School were all competitive during the fall of 2012.

Coach Kim Wood’s guided her runners through a second consecutive undefeated season. After crossing a few streams, and running up and down several hills, during a total of ten meets, her Lady Knights complied a record of 167 wins without tasting the agony of defeat.

Meanwhile, the Knights were running in the middle of the pack, while beating 84 teams and losing to 81 this season.

The runners on this year’s undefeated Lady Knights’ Cross Country Team were Alicia Parsons, Allison Peters, Hannah Louzy, Montana Garrett, Cassie Delauder, Callie Stout, Bethany Keener, Bronlie Jacobs, Payton Bish, Abigail Montgomery, Bayley Freeman, Cacia Gray and Tori Taylor.

Members of the TCMS boys’ team were Logan Miller, Keith Skaggs, Austin Saltis, Avery Brown, Maverick Ware, Jacob Coole, Jonah Rucker, Cameron Forte and Anthony Robinson.

Taylor County’s girls’ volleyball teams posted 3-7 records on both the varsity, as well as, the junior varsity level, under Coach Jeremy Loomis.

“I enjoyed working with this group of girls, and I hope they had some fun playing volleyball this fall,” Loomis said, after their final match of the season. “I believe we were a little more competitive this fall.”

Those varsity Lady Knights (and their respective contributions this fall) included: Morgan Loomis (92 points, 44 kills, five digs, six assists and four blocks); Micah Harrison (67 points, 17 kills and two digs); Corrin Lewis (60 points, 23 kills and 40 assists); Lita Chocky (55 points, 15 kills, one dig, two assists and one block); Kayla Shahan (37 points, nine kills and one assist); Isabella Kelly (33 points and 14 kills), Brittany Shipp (30 points, 13 kills and one block); and Jessie Watkins (25 points, three kills, and one dig).

Playing on the jayvee team were: Evalalah Alcorn, Delaney Hindman, Tatum Chocky, Madison Hukill, Shannon Linton, McKenzie Loffler, Serria Ross, Faith Sandy and Madison Simmons.

No fall sports program would be complete without a football team.

The players of the 2012 Taylor County Middle School Football Team were Anthony Robinson, Cole Collins, Cainan Johnson, Ryan Hess, Austin Young, Tristen Cochran, Matthew McDaniel, Kolbe Kimbrew, Alex Shelton, Steven Carder, Ricky McGinnis, Brandon Blake, Garrett Ware, Cabell Bolyard, Zachary Shumaker, Carson Butcher, Zachary Johnson, Hunter Newlon, Matthew Gaines, Jordan Henshaw, Kevin Hurst, Tylar Griffith, David Hurst, Dominic Lough, Casey Mayr, Kody Norris and Sam Murray.

They were coached by Todd Bolyard, and his assistant coaches Tom Spadafore, Hartsell Keener and Bartsell Keener.
