House of Delegates Member Mike Manypenny has been out with power company crews in Taylor County surveying damages done by the recent storm.
Manypenny has reported to the Mountain Statesman that as of 3 p.m. Monday afternoon, there are around 600 residences with Grafton addresses that do not have power. This includes residences along Wilson Ridge, Oak Grove,
Wickwire, Cherry Run, Turner Road and such. These homes could be without power until late Thursday or early Friday.
Manypenny noted that much of the issue centers around poles that have been broken, as well as, areas in which power company crews have to walk nearly a mile to get to downed power lines.
Manypenny further noted that there are nearly 260 homes with Thornton addresses still without power. These residences were not expecting to have power until Wednesday, but the power company advises that this area may have power sooner than expected.
"Oak Grove, Thornton and Independence were some of the hardest hit areas," commented Manypenny.
