Herbert L. “Herb” Losh, 83, of Cameron, formerly of Grafton passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at his residence in Cameron.
He was born in Grafton, November 22, 1928, a son of the late Alexander O. and Thelma Grimm Losh. In additions to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister in infancy
He served in the US Navy, on the USS Johnston during the Korea War.
Herb was a member of the American Legion in Marshall County. He was and EMT with Cameron EMS and a volunteer fire fighter with the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed wood crafts, making canes, back scratchers, and walking sticks. Herb retired as a truck driver with JC Caruth Trucking out of Bridgeport, OH and went back to school to be a beautician/hairstylist where he worked at Fashion Beauty Salon.
Herb is survived by his wife Janet K. Drennan Losh, whom he married July 1, 1972; children: Jennifer Losh Cunningham and husband Trent, Cameron,
Kathy and Don McCormick, Citrus Springs, FL, Herbert Losh, Jr. NC, Leah Wright, Cameron; four grandchildren, SSgt. Dana McCormick, S. Korea, Nicholas McCormick, Citrus, FL, Alex Losh, FL, Justin Losh, NC and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Delores Messenger and husband John, Grafton; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, from 4 p.m.-8 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2012. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Bert Coffman officiating.
Interment will follow at Woodsdale Memorial Park with full military graveside services accorded by the VFW Memorial Post 3081, the American Legion Taylor County Post #12, the D.A.V. Chapter 24, their auxiliaries, and the US Navy Funeral Honor Guard. A memorial service will be held in Cameron at a later date.
