GRAFTON – A 2:16 p.m. call last Saturday on Maple Avenue brought traffic to a complete stop on this frequently traveled road.
The Grafton Fire Department arrived to find a car on fire in front of 409 Maple Avenue, with the engine compartment completely engulfed.
Caitlyn Wright was driving down the avenue when a young juvenile called out to her to tell her that the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix she was driving was on fire. She immediately stopped and called 911.
The Wright family credits the young man with saving Caitlyn’s life. She has promised to take her hero on a ride in her new car when she gets it.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
Grafton Police Department Lieutenant Mike Kochka also responded to the scene.
