PRUNTYTOWN – Inmate Matthew Wade was apprehended at 11:43 pm last night (Monday) by the Division of Corrections Special Operations Unit near the intersection of Rt. 50 and 76 in Harrison County. He is back in custody of the WV Division of Corrections.

Matthew Stuart Wade escaped from the Pruntytown Correctional Center on Saturday, June 2, at 8:11 p.m. He is described as a 49-year-old Caucasian male, standing five feet four inches tall and weighing 240 pounds. He has black hair and green eyes. Wade has multiple scars and tattoo removal scars on his arms and abdomen. He has a tattoo on his right bicep of a rose with two ribbons and the name Mary, on his left chest a tattoo with the letters SW and a circle around it, on his left bicep is a tattoo of the Grim Reaper, on his right lower leg he has a tattoo of a rebel flag with the word clansman, and a tattoo of the Grim Reaper on his left lower leg.

He is serving a sentence out of Raleigh County for threats of retaliation against a public official and solicitation of first-degree murder. His prison sentences are one-to-ten years for the threats of retaliation, and one-to-15 years for solicitation of first-degree murder.

Wade’s last known address was 236 Klaus Street, Beckley, West Virginia.
