Joann L. (Martin) Maxwell
Joann L. (Martin) Maxwell, age 76 of Rt. 2, (Harmony Grove Community) Grafton, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, January 26, 2010.

She was born October 1, 1933 in Marion County a daughter of the late C. Dewey Martin and Wanda A. (Stewart) Martin.

She is survived by Kay and Kenny Lute and their two children, Kristina and Kristopher Lute of Morgantown whom she called her adopted daughter and family; one step daughter, Patty Thomas and husband John of Morgantown; three sisters, Betty Jean Kisner of Grafton, Margaret Burgreen and husband Joe, also of Grafton and Marian “Tina” Ohler of Buford, GA; one brother, Dewey Keith Martin of Fairmont; and also survived by several nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Letcher McKinney and her second husband, Burl Maxwell; one brother, Ivan Neil Martin; two brothers-in-law, Ansel “Dowdy” Kisner and Buck Ohler; and one sister-in-law, Maxiene Martin.

Joann worked for the Mylan Pharmaceutical Company in Morgantown, retiring after 30 years of service as an inspection supervisor.

She was a member of the United Steel Workers Union/ PACE and she was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Morgantown.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 30, at the Harmony Grove Baptist Church at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Alfred Reed officiating.

Interment will follow at the Harmony Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Maxwell will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church.
