Joyce Shumaker, 63, passed away, February 6, 2014. She was born to Henry A. and Bernice Katherine Mary (George) Zeller on August 8, 1950 in Wilma, New York.
Joyce worked as a bounty hunter and loving wife and mother for many years. In her spare time she was a District Commander for the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (D.A.V.A.), and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.), enjoyed bingo, computer games, cake decorating, fishing, camping and cooking. She was married to Jerry Shumaker in Watertown, New York on July 12, 1969.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Shumaker, Daughter and son-in-law, Candy and Stephen DeBrunner, sons, Scott Allen and Jerry Lee Shumaker all of Kingsland, Texas, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, brother, Allen Kempney of McAllen, Texas, sisters, Betty Endres and Kay Cassoni of Carthage, New York, Ruth Bickem of Rochester, New York and Joyce Sturm of Burnet, Texas, Nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitations will be on Saturday and Sunday, February 8th and 9th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Putnam Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, Park Road 4, Burnet, Texas. Chaplain W.C. “Dub” Falsone II will officiate. An online guest register may be signed at www.PutnamCares.com.
