Lenora Maxine (Stevens) Bartlett Perrone

Lenora Maxine (Stevens) Bartlett Perrone, age 94, of Valley Falls Road, Grafton, WV passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at her residence.

She was born on January 19, 1919 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Ina (Poe) Stevens.

 She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Bob) Moore of Carrollton, VA, Karen Flohr of Thornton, WV and Patsy (Dean) Rogers of Fairmont, WV; daughter-in-law, Ellen Bartlett of Fairmont; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren;  her sister, Ruth McDaniel; and many nieces and nephews.

Maxine is also survived by the two sons of her second husband, Orris, Robert Perrone and Richard Perrone, their children and grandchildren.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Murray B. Bartlett, Sr. and Orris Perrone;  her son, Murray B. Bartlett, Jr.; four brothers, Alva, Ronald, Donald and Brennis Stevens; three sisters, Edna Fast, Viola Lynch, and Frances Stansberry; and two sons-in-law, Ray Flohr and Ronald Moran.

 Maxine was a Christian and a charter member of Linn Chapel Church which she helped establish and attended faithfully until her health failed.  She was the spiritual leader of her family.

 She graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1936 and in later years attended W.Va. Business College.

Maxine lived most of her life in and around Grafton, WV.  She worked several places including Carr China Company, Cozy Rest, Shirt Factory, Grafton City Hospital and Hamric Motor Company.  She moved to Groton, Connecticut after the death of her first husband.  She lived and worked there for 15 years.  She met her husband, Orris in Connecticut.  After they retired, they moved back to Grafton where she enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.  She especially enjoyed the little children and babies.  In her more senior years she learned to decorate cakes and baked and decorated many, many cakes.

 The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Monday, September 2nd  from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday.

Funeral  services will be held on at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with

Rev. Dwayne Keener officiating.

Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Linn Chapel Church c/o Connie Abel, Treasurer, 983 Tucker run Road, Grafton, WV  26354.
