Ruth (Glover) Garrett, 81, of Bridgeport, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at United Hospital Center. She was born May 23, 1932, in Burnsville, WV, a daughter of the late William S. and Grace (Bradley) Glover.
Ruth is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Joseph R. Garrett of Bridgeport and seven children; Donna Miller and husband, Vincent, of Hedgesville, Dr. Sandra Lutz and her husband, Jim, of Culloden; Kathy Watkins and her husband, Bill, of Bridgeport; Joseph R. II and his wife, Betty, of Bridgeport; James and his wife, Donna, of Bridgeport; Dr. Elizabeth Belcastro and her husband, Richard, of Beaver Falls, PA, and Alicia Cathell and her husband, Stacy, of Morgantown; she is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Forinash and her husband, Richard, of Jane Lew; two brothers, Jack Glover and his wife, Marlene, of Clarksburg and James Glover and his wife, Jean, of Weston.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers, William Glover, Jr. and Jerry Glover and one sister, Thelma Kerns.
Ruth was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother and a friend of all who knew her. Her family was the joy of her life; when her children were young, Ruth organized and was the leader of a
4-H Club in the community of Middleville, she was actively involved in the school Parent Teacher Associations, and she taught Bible School classes. Ruth was a member of Simpson Creek Baptist Church and the Jessie Johnson Barnes Circle. She was a member of the Queen Esther Chapter No. 11, Order of the Eastern Star.
