Ron Anglin, age 66 of Rt. 2, Grafton, WV passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Grafton City Hospital.
He was born August 6, 1946 in Salem, OH a son of the late Richard Edwin and Isabella Catherine (Blaine) Anglin.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Sue Carol (Hall) Anglin; one son, Colin E. Anglin and wife Melissa of Madison, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Miram Elise Anglin and Ian Robert Anglin; three brothers, James Edwin Anglin and wife, Andrea of Memphis, TN, Charles Oscar Anglin and wife, Beverly of Nutter Fort, WV, and Richard Lee Anglin and wife, Gretchen of Adamsville, TN; and also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great friends.
Ron served in the US Army Signal Corp as a Spec 5 in Vietnam from 1969-1971, stationed at Tan Sanh Hoat Air Force Base outside of Saigon. He retired from the D.H.H.R. in Grafton as a Hearings Officer with over 32 years of service.
He was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Grafton where he served on the Board of Directors for the North Central Region of Catholic Charities of the Wheeling-Charleston Diocese; was a religious education teacher for 20 years; was a member of the Knights of Columbus; and he also served in several church ministries.
He enjoyed his family, painting, every conceivable home improvement project, and golfing.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Friday, April 19 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
Memorial mass will be officiated at the St. Augustine Catholic Church on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. by Father Jim O’Connor.
Burial will be at the WV National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jim O’Connor officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the VFW Memorial City Post 3081, Taylor County
Post 12 American Legion, D.A.V. Chapter 24 of Grafton, and the WV Army National Guard from Kingwood.
