Phyllis C. Collins Culp Harman, Age 78, of Lennox Avenue Grafton, WV, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Cairo, WV on November 20, 1932, a daughter of the late Earl J. and Lillian Collins Culp.
Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Don R. Harman. Also surviving are three children: Donna H. Garrett and husband James C. of Bridgeport; Debbie L. Grinnan and husband Andrew S. of Grafton; and Gregory C. Harman and wife Laurie J. of Melbourne, FL; eight grandchildren: Jessica Hall and husband Jarrod; Jill Moats and husband Ryan; Kurtis J. Garrett; Brian P. Grinnan; Kevin L. Grinnan; Benjamin C. Harman; Jonathon H. Harman; and Hunter G. Harman; three great-grandchildren: James J. Hall; Juliana L. Hall; and Tara Beth Grinnan; one brother: Edmund B. Collins and wife Linda Collins of Morgantown; and one sister: Luella Cork of Appleton, WI. Phyllis is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by one brother William Collins.
Phyllis retired from the Taylor County School System as a teacher at the West Grafton School. She was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Grafton, NAOMI Chapter #12 Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Retired Teachers Association, and the Alpha Phi Sorority at WVU.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home US Route 50 West Grafton, WV, on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 3 to 8 p.m.. and on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 10 a.m.. until the funeral hour at 11 a.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lynn R. Cartwright officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodsdale Memorial Park in Grafton.
