Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Knotts, Sr., Age 64, of RR 2 Grafton, WV (Webster Community), passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at his residence.

He was born on August 26, 1945, a son of the late Russell L. and Maxine Shugars Knotts. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Ann “Patty” Knotts whom he married on August 26, 1964.

In addition to his wife Ronnie is survived by one son Ronald Lee Knotts, Jr. of Grafton; three daughters: Linda Riffle and husband Jerald of Flemington, Connie Stemple and husband Bob of Virginia Beach, VA, and Melissa Gump and husband Tim of Flemington; one brother Terry Knotts and wife Donetta of Flemington; three sisters: Shirley Swick and husband Dearl of Flemington, Pam Stout of Bridgeport, and Lois Knotts of Bridgeport; nine grandchildren: J.R. Riffle of Fairmont, Brandon Riffle of Flemington, Adrian Knotts of Roanoke, VA, Brianna Wilfong of Grafton, Autumn, Trey, and Ceara Stemple all of Virginia Beach, VA, Cody and Ryan Mullan both of Flemington; one uncle Jack Shugars and wife Rosella of Meadland, and one aunt Mary Knotts of Philippi. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents Ronnie is preceded in death by one brother Ray Knotts.

Ronnie was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church in Pruntytown. He loved his family very much, as he always said “Bigger than the sky, and deeper than the ocean.” Ronnie enjoyed working in his garage and tinkering with different projects. He was a friend to all and especially his church family.

The family will receive friends at the Bradley J. Mayle Funeral Home in Flemington on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, March 8, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the Flemington I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The Knotts family has entrusted funeral arrangements to the Bradley J. Mayle Funeral Home, Flemington, WV.
