CLARKSBURG -- Four Grafton High School girls’ basketball players scored in double figures, as coach Tom Spadafore and his Lady Bearcats cruised past the home-standing Lady Irish of Notre Dame High School, 64-38, here on the Angelo Basile Court Tuesday evening.
The Lady Bearcats opened the contest on a 12-0 run, using some up-tempo style of play, before Sophia Messenger finally placed the Lady Irish on the scoreboard at the 4:50 mark of the opening quarter.
Grafton went on to claim a 26-7 lead after one period of play, and then held a 42-18 half-time advantage.
The Lady Bearcats cruised through the second-half action, out-scoring the Lady Irish by a 22-20 spread, while coach Spadafore was busy clearing his bench.
