Bernie’s Bears to continue

GRAFTON – Although we are no longer graced by Bernard “Bernie” Horovitz’s presence, his community-service efforts will be continued by his wife, Joyce. She visited with Taylor County Sheriff Terring Skinner and Chief Deputy Robert H. Beltner last week to announce her intentions.

...For many years Beltner collected generous donations of stuffed animals and plush teddy bears that could be given to children and youth. To many, presenting a soft teddy bear to a child may seem like a simple and minuscule act of kindness, but to a child, it is a tangible pillar of hope.

...“These soft teddy bears also help a hurting child cope with the immediate situation, and give them something to hold on to and hug.”
