GRAFTON – After spending the entire summer working on its renovations, Tygart Lake State Park Superintendent Brennon O’Sullivan was able to show off the progress made on the old bath house and swim area. This area of Tygart Lake closed around eight years ago.
Funding was made available to Tygart Lake State Park to enable contractors to remove the original cement beach area. O’Sullivan says that contractors are going place course sand along the shore of Tygart Lake in the spring. The course sand will be used to create a beach area for swimme
O’Sullivan additionally gave the Mountain Statesman the scoop by releasing to Taylor County’s own newspaper that Tygart Lake will remain open year round. He noted that the lake remained open the past two years on a trial basis, but with the success of the endeavor, that it would continue to remain open for business this winter.For the complete article see the 09-02-2013 issue.
