GRAFTON - As a result of last year’s redistricting, Taylor and Harrison counties share a House of Delegates seat in the 48th district. A vacancy was created in the 48th district when Senator Joe Minard resigned his seat earlier this month to fill the Senate Clerk position. Sam Cann then gave his seat as Delegate last Thursday to be able to fill Minard’s Senate seat, thus leaving the 48th House of Delegates open.
The committee will be meeting today, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m. in the Gaston Caperton Center, Room 148, Clarksburg to make their selection. The committee’s selection will then be forwarded to Governor Tomblin. Upon receiving the nomination, Tomblin will have five business days to fill the vacated seat.
